OLD BUSINESS
Annual Summer Picnic, July date to be announced at May 15 Neighborhood General Meeting.
Debbie Turner has generously volunteered to lead the effort for funds procurement and promotion. Our fundraising goal for 2000 is to provide equipment for the Kirkland Boys and Girls Club located in North Rose Hill. Again we will have free refreshments and entertainment for our neighbors to enjoy. Our first Volunteers Meeting will be held on May 22 to begin planning for this years Picnic. WE NEED YOUR HELP to make this picnic even a bigger success than it has been in prior years. Set-up Crew, Grill Superintendent, Soda Pourers, Take-down Crew, Face-Painters, other suggestions?
Meeting Topics for balance of 2000
May 15 Barry Russell, Director of Parks & Community Services will join us to discuss the proposed Park Place/Peter Kirk Park "Land Swap". He is seeking input and opinions regarding this proposal from Kirkland residents. NOTE: On Thursday, May 4, 2000 from 11:00am to 1:00pm and 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Parks Department staff will prepare, to the extent possible, Peter Kirk Park to show what the building configurations would resemble, if the proposed land swap with Park Place Center is determined to be a viable proposal.
We also hope to have a speaker on May 15 to discuss "TEEN ASSETS" "Show Kids You Care".
