N.E. 100TH Street Overpass: On June 20th, at 7:30 pm meeting, City Council is scheduled to readdress the Overpass Bids.

N.E. 85th Street Corridor Study: On July 13th, the city is scheduling a meeting to discuss. A Public Hearing is being held on June 22, in the evening. Concerns voiced at Board Meeting include:

  • Pedestrian safety issues including crossing NE 85th at 126th Ave NE to use Transit service.
  • Suggestion was made to extend zoning revision request for #85-4.5, #6 to extend east from the Seattle City Light Transmission Lines at NE 85th Street to 128th Ave NE.
  • Can we accelerate the removal of billboards/signage to conform with redevelopment requirements?
  • Median plantings on NE 85th Street between 128th Ave NE and 132nd Ave NE will help to calm traffic.
  • PARK Land Swap - review

Additional discussion occurred regarding the value of additional parking places offered by the developer in his proposed construction plan reviewed at the May 15 General Meeting. Initially it was recorded that our consensus was that this additional parking would be of little or no value to park users. It was decided at the board meeting that this consensus was primarily the view of non-NRH neighbors, and we rediscussed the issue and have reversed our opinion in support of additional parking.

WILLIAMSON PROPERTY - (This is the land added to Woodlands park in 1997) Potential Future Park Usage -

City Parks Board would like our NRHNA input on potential development options, usage suggestions for this land adjacent to our Woodlands Park and Fire Station 26. We will schedule a tour of this property in the Fall to aid in considering options.
