Hodgson. Attendees included Tom Hodgson, Jeff Trager,
Nancy Stephens, Betty Lou Crampton, Mary-Alyce
Burleigh, Margaret Carnegie, Mike Stults, Linda Jones,
Dave Asher, Jeff Hasson, Bud Gessell, Rodney Turner,

deVries, Mark Isaacs, Jean Hodgson, Ray Hansen and
numerous other North Rose Hill neighbors. Attendance
totaled approximately 45 people.
TREASURER'S REPORT: Current Balance $969.00
AGENDA:
OLD BUSINESS: "Neighborhood Survey" results were
shared with the attendees. Important issues to our
neighbors include: Maintaining strong City
relationships; Working with the City to develop,
maintain and expand safe walking routes; and Work with
Developers to assure acceptable new developments
within our neighborhood.
"100th Street Overpass": Neighbors are encouraged to
give their comments either for or against the addition
of an overpass over I-405 at NE 100th Street . The
project bids are currently exceeding budget and the
City needs our input as to whether to proceed with the
project. It is currently designed to allow both
Pedestrian access and Emergency Vehicle access from
NRH to the Highlands Neighborhood. The overpass would
give access to our neighborhood of a "safe" walking
route to downtown Kirkland. NRHNA supports the
project. Inclusion of Emergency Vehicle access to the
overpass allows for the inclusion of substantial
Federal money in the project funding.
"85th Street Project": Next hearing will be held on
February 8 at 6 p.m. at City Hall with the Planning
Commission. Please attend to voice concerns.
COMMITTEE REPORT: Mary-Alyce Burleigh as
representative to K.A.N. reported on new committee
representation requirements from our NRHNA, and
received the following volunteers:
Safe Walk Routes: Mary Broxon (425-827-5698), Wenda
Zonnefeld (425-827-0577)
Hotel-Motel Tax addition to provide additional tourism
funding for Kirkland: Jeff Trager
Park Bond Exploratory committee: Karen Tennyson
E.Gov and Website Committee: Rodney Turner
(206-834-1451, rodney@integrity.com)
Next K.A.N. meeting to be held 3/14/01 at 6:30 p.m. at
Round Table Pizza in Houghton.
OTHER BUSINESS:
"Pathway's Maintenance": If you have concerns
regarding status of maintenance of a neighborhood
pathway, contact Barry Russell at Kirkland Park's
Department to advise him of your concern. He is in
charge of allocating funding to these maintenance
projects. Jeff Trager of NRHNA is a Park Board Member
and will also address this issue at the next Park
Board Meeting.
"Neighborhood U." It was announced that starting at
the end of April, Neighborhood Leaders will have the
opportunity to attend Monday Evening "classes" to
learn how City Government Works, and how to be more
effectively involved in your community. If you are
interested, by becoming involved in your current
Neighborhood Association, you may be able to attend.
Suggested Grant Projects: Each year the N.A.'s can
apply for $3500 from the City to support projects
within our n'hood. Suggestions for this year's grant
