TOPICS DISCUSSED:
SUMMER PICNIC PROCEDURES - STATUS UPDATE
Picnic Date - Saturday, July 20, noon-4 p.m. (7TH ANNUAL PICNIC!!)
3-6 Months in advance of Picnic
start the planning -
1. Reserve Woodlands Park (KT) - DONE
2. Update the Banner - get from City Parks Dept at Maintenance Center on 6th and bring to FAST SIGNS for updating. (TH & KT)($75 - DONE
3. Reserve "BOUNCER" from FUN RENTALS. ($250) (DT) - RESERVED 14 x 14 bouncer, holds 10.
4. Schedule BBQ rental ($65) from United Rentals in Totem Lake, and Generator rental ($55) (or borrow from Clint Ferrell?) also from United Rentals - need 5000 watts.
5. Locate Chairs and Tables (JT) - DONE
6. Arrange Music - We will "DJ" $100 for equipment rental (NS)
7. Send Donation/solicitation letters to local business for food contributions. (DT)
8. Locate volunteers to assist with Face Painting, working with kids, general assistance. (KN) Flyer going to Teen Center. DT contacting a volunteer also.
9. Canopy - Use 10 ft. Booth to be loaned by Kaylee Nilan.(KN). Also large umbrella to be set up for sun protection (JT & TH)
1-2 Months in advance
1. Invite City Officials to be Pie Contest Judges (TH) - JUDGES ARE SELECTED
2. Publicize Picnic/Pie Baking Contest/Activities in Courier (JT), Sandwich Boards (DT )
3. Arrange for electricity from Firehouse. (JT)
4. Arrange for Helium from Praxair and Balloons from Party Express ( KN - BALLOON HATS )
Suggested activities:
2 P.M. - Pie Baking Contest - Prior year winner to officiate? (MAB) (NS to get prize ribbons, tasting cups, water) Need to get prize for 1st Place (Sur La Table pie oriented item(NS)

Swing Dancing Lessons (KT) - Need recorded music (DJ)

COST to participate: FREE but DONATION boxes will be available
FOOD list:
Hotdogs, buns, drinks, ice cream, chips, ice, COSTCOcake, dry ice, condiments, serving utensils, paper napkins, paper plates, garbage bags, paper towels. Garbage Cans will be located by JT.
