Mike Stults, Karen Tennyson, Margaret Carnegie, Kaylee Nylan, Chris Teem, Jeff & Nicole Hallberg, Betty-Lou Crampton, Michelle Goerdel, Debi Turner, April Morgan, Mary Smith, Linda Jones, Jeff Trager, Nancy Stephens.
ITEM I.
Presentation was made by Jim Soules and Linda Pruitt of THE COTTAGE COMPANY regarding planned "Innovative Housing" project they will be building on the 2.2 acres Danielson Property on 129th Ave NE between NE 104th and NE 107th Streets. Conventional housing would allow 10 units to be built. This format will allow 16 homes with separate garages and a common area. A follow meeting is scheduled for April 23 for the neighbors within 500 feet of the plat, to be held at 7 pm at the Fire Station. The homes will range from a 1 bedroom home in the low $200,000 range to a 3 bedroom/2 bath style in the low $400,000 range. This is not subsidized housing Building will begin in the summer of 2004.
ITEM II.
Kaylee Nylan announced a PTSA Bicycle Safety Rodeo to be held May 16 at Mark Twain Elementary in the school parking lot, from 5:30-7:00 pm. There will be a BBQ, safety stations for bikes and skateboards to be checked. NRHNA will be donating the use of our tables and chairs for this activity. Kaylee is asking for volunteer adults to assist in the program. Any bicycle experts out there? Contact Kaylee at 425 822 4863 or email jtrager@attbi.com for further information or to volunteer.
ITEM III
4th of July Parade Float - Theme for the Parade is "Honoring Kirkland's Past". Suggested float themes are the Kirkland Steel Mill or "Family Farms of North Rose Hill". Kaylee will present some design suggestions at our next meeting in May.
ITEM IV
1. Softball Game to be held on June 21, 1 pm at Mark Twain Elementary. NRHNA vs HIGHLANDS NA. To be organized by Jeff Trager and Tom Hodgson. There will be refreshments. Hopefully this will be the beginning of an annual competition between our neighborhods, complete with Trophy! No more than 10 players in the field at a time! Team Shirts and name badges are being considered. Perhaps a BBQ will be included.
ITEM V.
8th Annual NRHNA Picnic to be held July 19, Saturday, at Woodlands Park, 12-4 pm. Debi Turner will chair the Picnic Committee. Volunteers needed to assist. Plan is to have
DJ'd music as we had in 2002.

ITEM VI
Lake Washington Technical College has requested volunteers willing to joing their Hazard Mitigation Plan Development Committee Contact the LWTC for participation.
ITEM VII
City Church - Chris Teems requested time at our May meeting for a 15 minute presentation by the Church for plans to build 8-9 housing units on Church property for use by Church missionaries. The units will be approximately 1500 sq ft each and be owned and operated by the Church.
ITEM VIII
Signboards were distributed to willing Board Members for regular placement around our nhd announcing the next monthly meeting.. To be placed Thursday before the meeting and removed by Tuesday after the meeting.
ITEM IX.
Clean up - Mary Alyce Burleigh. Cleaned the eastside of the Mark Twain Elementary playground. Laid beauty bark. Need to finish northside of playground. Next work party is scheduled for May 3, 10:00. Bring your own tools.
ITEM X.
Presented by Mary Smith and Mary Alyce Burleigh. Adopt 124th Ave Cleaup, will cover the area from NE
80th to NE 116th. Cleanup will be done 4 times per year. Teams will meet at the Fire Station Parking
Lot. First cleanup will be done in two "teams". On May 10, at 8:00 am, the North side will be cleaned
from NE 100th to NE 116th. At 10:00 am, the second team will meet and clean the South Side from NE 100th to NE 80th. Cleanup bags, gloves, and safety vests will be provided by the City.
ITEM XI.
Mary Alyce Burleigh announced that plans are to use 2002 excess Grant Money for a picnic table at Mark Twain Park. Location of table was discussed and desire for a rectangular table was expressed.
ITEM XII
Betty Lou Crampton discussed her desire that the NRHNA should submit a letter to the City reminding them of the NE 85th St Corridor Comprehensive Plan that defined limitations of expansion into the nhd by businesses in response to the desire of KIRKLAND HONDA to expand it's property to the lot just north of the current dealership on 124th Ave NE.
Karen Tennyson agreed to submit a letter for review by the board before sending it to the City.
