General Meeting of the North Rose Hill Neighborhood Association

Place: Mark Twain Elementary School Library

Date:   Jan 17, 2005

Call to Order: 7:40PM

The meeting was called to order at 7:40 by Karen Tennyson

Noel Schoneman, P.E., nschoneman@ci.kirkland.wa.us, 425-587-3870, gave a presentation about the Neighborhood Traffic Control Team.  Because of problems in the neighborhood, the city is forming a task force of about a dozen people with a time commitment of about 4 meetings with 4 goals:

1 - to identify problems and collect data to quantify the problems.

2 - to look at the data, prioritize the problems, and look at solutions.  Some of the possible solutions are education, speed humps, cushions, magnetic bumper stickers which read, "I drive 25", and enforcement.

3 - put together a package of solutions to take to the neighborhood.

4 - look at feedback from the neighborhood about the package.

The package would then go to a vote by the neighborhood, where it would need a 70% positive vote if those responding.

Four people signed up for this committee.

Betty Lou and Brian gave a report about the Tree Planting Program.  50 trees have been ordered:  maple, ash, crabapple, cherry, elm.  There was discussion about why no evergreens are on the list and why there were only 50 trees instead of 100.  It was determined that we need to select a weekend in March to plant, we need people to plant, we need info to give the homeowners about the care required.

Karen summarized the NRHNA's accomplishments in 2004:
