Board Meeting of the North Rose Hill Neighborhood Association Minutes

 

Place: North Rose Hill Fire Station

Date: December 18, 2006

Call to Order: 7:00 p.m.

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 by Margaret Carnegie.

 

Present at Meeting: Kaylee Nilan, Mike Stults, and Margaret Carnegie

 

January Elections:

Kaylee agreed to build 4th of July float again.  (Entry fee raised to $100.00.  City Celebration staff requested donations to cover costs at a recent KAN meeting.)

 

     Kevin Miller, Esther LaMarche, and Carole Olson are not available for Board

     Positions next year.  Carol Nielson is available for a Board position.

 

Mike Stults agreed he was willing to be treasurer again.  (He brought annual accounting records for 2006.  December costs for January mailing won’t be recorded until next year.)

 

More Board Members are needed for next year.

 

List of 2006 Accomplishments:

     Woodlands Park Playground building

     $500 donation to Kevin Miller’s organization, The Men’s Network Against Domestic

             Violence, as thank you for Woodlands Park Playground building work

     Fourth of July Parade float, with accompanying unicyclists

     July NRHNA picnic

     Mark Twain Elementary grounds clean-up

     124th Ave. N.E. clean-up—twice

     Tree plantings in neighborhood with new city agreement to allow citizens to

            obtain trees for private property planting, right–of-way trees that should   

            be planted by February, with some evergreens available

     Neighborhood Walking Maps, in progress, for distribution in Welcome Packets

     Updating of Welcome Packets

 

2007 City Connections $25000 grant:  Kari Page will be interacting with NA to set up process to determine how to spend grant.  Current ideas:

     More benches on 128th Ave. N.E., especially between N.E. 85th & 95th

     Benches for undeveloped park area near N.E.114th & 125th   Ave. N.E.

     Additional neighborhood signs at north and/or east ends of neighborhood

     Slater Ave. traffic calming donation

     Milken Family donation

     City Celebration 4th of July donation

     Additional street lights for pedestrian safety

 

Kirkland Spelling Bee: do we want to enter this year?  Application should arrive in   

     January.  Bee is scheduled for February 28.  We will need applicants and entry fee.

 

January Agenda change:  Mastro Development (N.E, 116th & 124 Ave. N.E.)

     Representative will be on vacation and unavailable for presentation
