Treasurer
Report: $1,681 in checking account.
Kaylee
moved to except the report and Betty Lou seconded the motion and the vote was
unanimous.
Mike
shared the work he is doing on the 2007 application for the Neighborhood
Matching Grant of $3,500.00. We as a
group went over the application on each item to confirm the hours and projects
for NRHNA. A Discussion on mass mailing to the entire neighborhood which
consists of every household and the email list which numbers around 300
households.

Communications: Mailings, email, and all that is
part of communications.

Maintenance:

Picnic: Neighborhood Picnic in July of
each year; all that is involved in the picnic, food entertainment, and more.

Parade: Float in the 4th of
July parade representing the neighborhood
We
agreed to add a new category
·
Education and Outreach: Newspaper Article, Website
maintenance, Meeting notes, assigning a person on the board to attend and
listen to council meetings to report back to the neighborhood of what is
happening with the city and any other important information that involves NRH.
Margaret
was going to ask Arthur Best if he would like to take on that role as the vice
chair of the NRHNA and report council meetings to the neighborhood.
There
was a suggestion to put down on the application the real budget not a budget
that will equal the $3,500 matching fund to show the neighborhood is truly
involved and the matching funds are greatly appreciated.
With the
added information and such Mike suggested he make the changes and send out via
email to the board, and we the board could approve the application via
email after all revisions and changes
have been made. The board agreed
unanimously.

Betty
Lou made a motion that the board approve and send a $25.00 check to the League
of Women Voters to help pay for the pamphlets they print up that Betty Lou
inserts into the welcome packets for new neighbors on NRH. Kaylee Seconded. The vote was unanimous to
sent $25.00 to the League of Women Voters.

Linda
brought up the King County Metro in Motion; the gist of the Metro in Motion is
to get more people to ride Metro and get out of their cars. She said that the program may be a great idea
and a viable program, but in her research, it is a great deal of work and did
not think we as a board should get involved.

Neighborhood
Happenings:
There is an application in the City and is in front of the
Design Review Board to put an Organic Grocery Store in the building that is on
the North East corner of 126th and 85th, where the
Holistic Medicine offices are next to the Shell Station.
The City Ministries PUD will happen on March 1st.

Slater
Traffic Calming: there is no new information since the January General Meeting.
·
Jeff
Trager announced that he is considering resigning as the Neighborhood Reporter
in the Kirkland Courier and was wondering if there would be anybody who would
like to take on the job.

Jeff
Trager spoke on behalf of the Park Board announcing the presentation of the
study to build an Indoor Recreation Community Center which would house a lap
swimming pool, basket ball courts, community room; 9 acres would be required to
build the project and it could cost anywhere from 30 to 50 million. The presentation will be March 6, at
Kathy
Gilles to present at our next meeting Domestic Violence.
