General Meeting of the North Rose Hill Neighborhood Association

The meeting was called to order by Margaret Carnegie at 7:00 pm.
Margaret asked “what brought neighbors to the meeting, Post Card, Yard Sign, Neighbor, Kiosk sign? She also asked if there were any first timers and to make sure that welcome packets get distributed to any new families in the neighborhood.
· City Council Member, Jessica Greenway attended the meeting to talk about “Conflict of Interest”. When something comes up before the Council or any other commission in the city, such as Planning, if the issue effects the council member or commissioner directly, they are to step down from the vote and conversation regarding the particular issue. All Council Member and Commissioners are to look at all issues in the city with an open mind.
· Jeff Trager asked if anyone would like to write the NRH column for the Kirkland Courier and Arthur Best said he was very interested.
· Bud Gesell had the City's planting plans for the new City Park west of 124th Ave NE near Forbes Lake.
· Betty Lou Crampton had recycling pamphlets that said electronic equipment would be picked up by Waste Management by giving them a call
· Leslie Batten from the Cascade Land Conservancy explained that the Green Kirkland Partnership is organized to protect and restore Kirkland's forests from invasive ivy. In NRH, from Woodlands, Mark Twain and Forbes Lake there are 30 acres that need volunteers to remove the intrusive ivy. Contact Leslie at leslieb@cascadeland.org or Jeff Trager.
· Carol Nielsen talked about the City Ministries' Housing project. People spoke their concerns about traffic and noise that the development will cause.
· Kari Page, the City's Neighborhood Services coordinator, presented information on the Neighborhood Connection Program. There was mailing sent out to all NRH neighbors to identify how funds from the capital project should be spent. She will return with the results at the May meeting.
· Kathy Gilles spoke about training this Spring for volunteers for the domestic violence, the Kirkland Police Department's Domestic Abuse Response Team (D.A.R.T.) program. The contact is Julie Reynolds at 425-587-3012.

Mike Stults, treasurer, gave the
treasurers report, the bank balance is at $1600.
