·         Noel Schoneman: Public Works - Slater Ave. Traffic Calming Report in 2006 a child was hit by car on Slater so it brought the current task force together.  Brought the fire dept. out and put temporary calming devices in place to see if the Fire Dept. could maneuver.  The city is going to go ahead with the project.  NRH allocated $4200 from the $25,000 to install lights along Slater and it ended up costing $1,000.  At 100th a Beacon light will be installed so when the fire goes West and East the light will be on so pedestrians and drivers will know the trucks will be coming through.  At the intersection 105th traffic Circle will be second in the work order.

·         Clearing street of Brush, just contact Noel and they will handle it from the Cities end.

Most difficulty is to keep officers employed.  Brian Farman our neighborhood officer came.  What can we do as a neighborhood to help the officers to do their job? Stolen cars, house break-ins, car break-ins.  If you see someone in the neighborhood you are not comfortable with, call 911 and continue watching them until the officer comes.  Do not leave ANY valuables in your car when you are not in it.

·         Red light cameras are not yet installed in Kirkland

·         Don’t open your door to anyone you do not know that comes to your door.

·         If someone is following you on your way home, do not go home, go to a public place and call the police, or go to the police department.

·         Overall Crime has dropped in the past year city wide and state wide.

Milt Olsen: Survey Results
