NRH
needs to file as a non-profit organization, NRH needs to file a Form 990 with
the IRS this year. The form is due by
May 15th. As a prerequisite, it was
suggested that we (the NRHNA) define the type of organization we are according
to IRS codes. After discussion, Patty made a motion to recognize NRHNA as a
501c-4 non-profit, it was seconded by Kylee, the vote
was unanimous for NRHNA to be a 501c-4.
The
process for submitting a Form 990 is in progress. It required re-activating the
NRHNA organization with the IRS so that the EIN (Employer Identification
Number) is recognized when submitting the electronic version of form 990. This
might make us late in filing, but the IRS said this is okay.
Mike came to the Fire Station and got educated on how to use the audio visual equipment/ computers so when we hold our meetings we can have visuals on the screen.
QFC is good about donations as suggested by Norm Storm. So remember QFC when we are looking for food for the picnic.
A Dr Eblan may like to donate to the picnic, he has in the past.
Patty Sutter will create a flyer again this year to advertise the picnic to the neighborhood.
Kaylee requested that we change the cleanup of Mark Twain School to mid August, there was a suggestion to contact the school with the Dates for the school cleanup so they can get the word out to parents that may want to come and help.
Ask the school to put on their reader board the date of the cleanup.
With the budget cuts, the city is no longer providing trash cans at the parks, so there is a request for the Neighborhood to find a group of people that would be willing clean parks.
Suggestion to set up a Twitter account to get info out to more of the neighborhood, Casey Walvoord said he would look into it.
