NORTH ROSE HILL NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION MINUTES of BOARD MEETING, January 20, 1997
Minutes of the last general meeting were approved.
Treasurer's report:
$85.70 in the general account; we returned $311.40 to the City of Kirkland,
the balance remaining from their $2,500 grant; the collection from the
November general meeting, $84, was given to the Multi Service Center.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
REPORT FOR 1996
The Board has had lots of suggestions on the proposed Catherine Court project, especially regarding traffic access from the south.
We have worked on changes in the City's Comprehensive Plan regarding the creep of commercial development from NE 85th Street north.
The property north of COSTCO is zoned multi-family.
The traffic light at 124th Ave. NE and NE 90th Street-- not sure when it's going in-- Dave Asher will check.
Sidewalk along 132nd Ave. NE-- largely due to the efforts of Dave Asher.
Carl Boruck is working on a city ad hoc committee regarding assisted living centers.
Bud Geisel has been active in the Forbes Lake developments.
OBJECTIVES & PRIORITIES FOR 1997
Turn lanes on 124th Ave. NE-- cars still pass on the right
128th Ave. NE & NE 95th Street-- should be a 4-way stop
speed humps on all streets not just a few (humps on a few streets just reroutes traffic); humps on NE 104th Street are too high; someone suggested humps on 128th Ave. NE south of NE 95th Street-- someone else objected
sidewalks on NE 95th Street for the school kids; it was noted that there have to be sewers to have sidewalks-- we will check on the LIDs
Network for contacting people regarding putting in sewers
Honda/Nissan test drives on NE 97th Street and Slater
Formulate community character to present to the City and developers
NRHNA's position on wetlands?
Neighborhood design review board
PUDs require pedestrian pathways (including maintenance and trash clean-up)
Adult family homes/assisted living
More pressure on the city to do something about overflow from Forbes Lake
Drainage problems
Home businesses
Notification by the City of developments

OLD BUSINESS
Dave Asher distributed and discussed the results of a survey regarding the speed humps on NE 104th Street; a heated discussion followed; a motion was made and passed to discuss the issue of speed humps further at another meeting; a motion was made to recommend to the City that 4-way stop signs be put in at 128th Ave. NE and NE 104th Street and that the speed humps on NE 104th Street be eliminated-- this motion was tabled in light of the previous motion to hold further discussion
Carrie Dovzak asked anyone who has had storm drainage problems to see her
