Board Members Present: Margaret Carnegie, Bud Gessel, Milt Olson, Mike Stults, Patti Sutter, Sharon Clark
Jason Filan, the Operations Manager with the City of Kirkland Park Department came to the meeting to talk about the budget cuts. In cuts in the budget, there has been a removal of 30 to 40% of the Parks trash bins, so there are questions as to how the trash is going to be handled. Should members of the neighborhood take on the job to remove trash, people need to know before entering the parks that trash is to be handled by the community.
Don Schmitz: 128th Street Bench Report. Don and his neighbor will be power washing the benches and putting a new coat of stain and sealer on Benches throughout Rose Hill..
Kari Page Neighborhood Coordinator, Rod Steitzer Project Engineer spoke about 116th Capitol Improvement Projects. Between Kirkland and Bellevue, Non Motorized improvements. Perteet Engineering is working on the project. July is the first permitting. September Big package to be ready. Seeking Grant funding to finish the project. 4.5 million to complete the project. Seeking 1.6 million of federal funds.

Tom Jones: BN (Burlington Northern) Corridor came to solicit interest and support of the BN track spaces. City will have public hearings on this.

From Cascadia Program (a think tank) and are funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Bruce Agnew owns Cascadia Program.
Abandonment procedure, GNP Railway, would like to install commuter rail on corridor. Renton to Snohomish, projected to have 6,700 passengers a day.
Joint use Cascade Bicycle Club wants the track removed and only trail use of the corridor.
Malinda Bronsdon: Census takers should have a black bag and a lanyard and show drivers license and give supervisors name. April 1 is Census Day nation wide. Hope to be finished by July 1.
1792 was the first year of the Census, and it is done every 10 years. 130 million forms. Used to redraw the legislative districts, reapportion our representation as a result of population growth. Redistribute federal funds, our taxes coming back to our community. $1400 comes back to our community per person to help pay for schools and other needs in our community. Required by law to complete. American Fact Finder is the results on the web. Census bureau cannot share any of the information with any other entity, they use the statistics but not personal info. $17.50 per hour if you need a part time job, available.

Patti Sutter: Other Meetings. City Council: BNSF Coridor, City Council getting organized on this, Council very vocal about Trail and silent about the Rail. Improvements on 85th undergrounding of the Utilities starting in April, 2010. Look for slow downs in 85th.
Park Lane is having improvements overlayment, raise the street, work on existing trees. Scheduled to start and be completed before summer.
